It's no secret that Barca are going through a period of "transformation". But, how have they fared until now ?
Luis Suarez-
By far the biggest name to go out of the door. Luis Suarez has been released to Atleti for a record shattering 6 million Euros. Yeah, not very good. A player with around 200 goals for the club is sold for a price of a teenager to a major competitor. That's business. But thinking ahead, except money-wise, this was a wise decision. I think Koeman is too stubborn to play him after he decided that he is not in the plans, and it would just add to the uneasiness in the dressing room.
Arturo Vidal-
The warrior has officially left guys, and he proved many of us wrong. I took it for granted that he was here to warm the bench and he turned out to be the only lively presence on the field. I still don't prefer the way he plays, but he kept us alive in many matches, with the energy and tackles. That said, we would have to come back to a technically adept midfield at some point, and this is just the right time to trust the youngsters.
Nelson Semedo-
He is the youngest of the lot and probably the one that made perfect sense. He is fast, can dribble and all of that, but he is not of the mould that is required for becoming a Barcelona player. 30 million is a decent amount and it will be beneficial for the Dest or max aarons deal.
Ivan Rakitic-
Another one of the players who do not really fit the 'Barca player' identity but succeeded. So, a similar story with him, we need to focus on the youngsters.
The incoming players-
Based on rumors.
Sergino Dest-
It's a pair made in heaven deal, which, could go wrong, but mostly will be worth the money. He is quick, intelligent and creative. A player who is indeed capable of performing on the highest level.
Max Aarons-
Max Aarons deserves much better than the Championship. He is a talented, and, to be honest, too quick. Well, he would be a great addition. The left side is empty by the way.
Eric Garcia-
I have said this time and time again, Eric Garcia HAS to return to Barcelona. Him and Araujo playing together is a mouth watering prospect. Just think of it. Garcia, Araujo, Dest, Aarons and Ter Stegen, we'll be unpenetrable. That's, of course, an overstatement.
To be honest, this might well be the perfect signings and guide Barca to it's level again, while there's also a chance of them failing, and even more grave, them not coming at all. So let's wait.
That's it then !
