Making up....

The last ten days have been the series for best teams of the decade, and one of them, particularly F.C Barcelona, has been subject to tremendous updates. Let's analyse them all.

1. Lionel Messi stays, but also not.

Technically, Lionel Messi is staying at the club, but he is not happy. Even if he performs, as he always does, this is not ideal for a player who has had this legacy at a club. Now, this was the time to take a brave decision. Bartomeu, as he is most familiar of doing, bottled it. Nothing can separate him from the sack now. The motion of no confidence, I hope, will get passed and he'll be out.

2. Griezmann, Coutinho stay, Depay still in sights.

Well, only Koeman knows what he is doing, but I do not think he is doing it right. They are not heeding any interest in their player Emerson. They want Hector Bellerin who has a habit of getting injured. They want Depay which could mean Ansu Fati being very unhappy. They want Wijnaldum while they want Vidal to get outta here. They want Stefan De Vrij who is clearly past his best. While a 30 million for arguably the best suit for Barcelona in Eric Garcia seems steep. This is all ridiculous. This is Barcelona, not Netherlands.

3. Lautaro deal still on.

Messi going hurts, but you know what, if Barcelona had shown a tiny bit of maturity, they could have had a great mix of cash and players. Nobody's going to pay 700 million. But, a 100 million plus 3 players who very much suit Barcelona in exchange for a player you do not deserve and is proving to be a player too good to build a team around for you, you agree the deal.

4. Pjanic, Trincao, Pedri, Maia, among others join training, Dembele looking sharp.

The new signings are always looked at for their commitment....

While some do not show this, Barcelona players, this season, are exactly where they should be, at the training ground. Coutinho did not take his extended break, Messi, Suarez, others cut short their vacations, most players did not enjoy any vacations and are already looking good. Especially Dembele, who looks to be well prepared (as he always does in preseason) The problem going forward, though, will be how well they maintain this level of commitment and fitness, along with not washing away.

That's it and I will be fixing my predictions tomorrow, as a certain Argentinian changed many of those.

My Top Ten: Total Fiction- Three

No. 3. Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn Series by Mark Twain          The great American novels. The novels, set in and 'round Mississippi river, and the state of course, for all but one novel, are a jewel to read. They are humorous, rich and enjoyable. Truly one of the greatest American novels.          Plot- A painstakingly simple plot for each novel, woven around a million subplots, adding humor and there you have it. But, it is not that easy. To find the right subplot, to find the best position to add humor, even to decide on jokes, is hard. It's not that easy to satisfy neysayers and these novels have done just that.          Characters- I wasn't born in the U.S.A. and I do not know how the kids there are. But, if their lif can be this adventurous, count me in ! Mark Twain creates a bond so tight that I must believe whatever he writes. Tom steals a hot air balloon, of course he can do that.    ...

Barca: A season to forget- Left Wing/ Midfielder

THE PLAYERS- I am not considering Coutinho and Griezmann Left Wingers. 1. Ansu Fati- An  astoundingly ridiculous revelation this season, Ansu Fati will surely be a major part any success we are * hoping * for. His speed and aggressiveness is always channeled and timed well. He can create something out of very little. This is the quality we were craving for, and we have got it in the form of Ansu.  2. Pedri- I know, he is not a first team member just yet, but that is not to say he won't recieve first time action. I think when Ansu needs rest, Pedri should get some starts against less physical sides like Villarreal. Conclusion- After two seasons after Neymar left, we finally have two very good wingers on both flanks. This is definitely good !

My Top Ten: Total Fiction- Four

No. 4. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.  Yeah, it is not in my top three. I am disappointed too, but I can assure you, I like this book very much, it is just that I like three books more. It is Paulo Coelho's best work by far and understandably. According to him, it is based on Wisdom. It is more about dreams and how to chase them. Plot- A boy has had a dream, there is a treasure below the pyramids in Egypt and he sets off to find it. Oh, how simple that seems and yet I have barely seen a novel more difficult to get the true essence. His journey is filled with extra-ordinary coincidences and incidents, making the journey adventurous and also giving a scope for some wisdom to be shared. A book like no other, This is the first book I'd recommend to instill a reading habit.  Characters- Santiago....Melchizedek....the alchemist....the shopkeeper.... all of these characters have a separate soul. A person we could identify, not one we could relate with the author in any way. This is a...
