There are loads of quality players out there, but only a bunch of them stand apart from the rest. This is inevitably due to their consistency. We will try to pick out the best age group out of these three- Below 24, 24-30 and above 30.
First of all, let's lineup our XI for the separate age groups.
For Today, Under 24-
Gianluigi Donnarumma
Obviously it is the Milan man between the sticks. He has been a starter for a club of Milan's level (Pretty decent level) since the age of 16 (!) that's young. And this year, more than ever, he has gotten to that level where we can safely say he's here to stay. Stopping penalties, brilliant saves and a decent distribution sees him as the best goalkeeper out there.
Trent Alexander Arnold-
He is possibly the best Right Back in the world and certainly the best under 24. Record number of assists for a defender, brilliant crossing and freekicks, great passing and decent defending, due to his speed.
De Ligt-
Although he had a rough season in Turin this season, he is undoubtedly a brilliant player and would bounce back to become one of the best defenders of his generation.
Dayot Upamecano-
A tough choice, but I struggle to think of a better center back than him under 24, and that's exactly why he's here. A brilliant performance against Atleti capped an extraordinary season, with a chance to show his quality on THE biggest stage of football.
Alphonso Davies-
According to me, a very good player with determination is a little difficult to find. And Alphonso Davies is just that. He could step into any team and have his starting place if I am a manager, and while that is not very convincing, see it like this- David Alaba, one of the best players in Bayern moved position to accommodate him. That's rare in a club of Bayern's stature and so it should be.
Frenkie De Jong-
The Napoli game reminded everybody just how good he is and that he is the perfect candidate to take over from Busquets. His technical ability, dribbling and vision are of the highest order and is a joy to watch.
Phil Foden-
A brilliant player and according to Guardiola, one of the best youngsters he's ever coached. That may be far fetched, having trained with Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, Busquets, Pedro, Cesc and the list is endless, but he is right up there in terms of footballing quality. It would be nice to see him flourish under Guardiola.
Kai Havertz-
This player fascinates me on all levels. His every aspect is brilliant and his mentality is rock solid. Good to see this in a twenty one year old. He has been lighting Bundesliga all season and has a chance to play in a star studded Chelsea squad. He has earned it.
Jadon Sancho-
One Bundesliga star to the next, Sancho is one of the best English players out there. Technically brilliant, a lot of flair and has a certain match changer quality in him. He is really a special player.
Kylian Mbappe-
How could you not include this man ? Yes, I do not exactly like his style of play (Loathe it) and the fact that he is a superstar does not go well with me. Alright, but his finishing and Pace is unquestionable and he may guide PSG, along with Neymar, to the finals.
Gabriel Jesus-
I could not finish the lineup without a controversial choice, could I ? It's been a brilliant season for Jesus, and all the talks that he is not potent to replace Aguero are rubbish. He is totally capable and Guardiola is no stranger to picking out talent from the rest (Ask Busquets)
That's all, It is a 4 blog series and I guess it's going to be a banger !
