Let's Talk Neymar

On August the third, 2017, Neymar, after being touted to become the 'second Messi' at FC Barcelona, Neymar moved to Paris Saint Germain.

Neymar had finished third in the Balon D'Or rankings in two seasons of the last three seasons at Barca. A world record fee of 222 million Euros. Everything was set for Neymar. He just had to play good. But instead, he fell into the clutches of injuries and everybody thought, his career is over, he should not have left Barcelona and so on and so forth. This year however, he has shown what he can do on a football pitch. He has been arguably the best player in the world since the restart. His movement, dribbling and passing have been out of this world.

Story-

Neymar was scouted by Barcelona after his brilliant performances with Santos F.C..  He arguably had the best time, both professionally and personally in Barcelona. There are many memories, the treble, the MSN, the REMONTADA, yes even he regarded it to be his best memory "EVER" That's all nice. But then, after all that he gained, learned, matured and enjoyed, he moved to Paris SG. A heartbreaking moment for us cules. Allegedly, he wanted to move out of Messi's shadow. Yeah, who'd have told him that Messi's shadow extends all over the world. Now, he is in PSG, earning ridiculously high amount of money, but his performances have dropped, he spends half of the time at home, while on the pitch, he performs, unquestionably, but he has not been what he was supposed to be. Fast forward to 2020. He has had a good season, not injured for most of the season, does not dive much, playing good in a creative role. This season has finally been one to cherish for the Parisians. Domestic Treble done, Champion's league final waiting, all good.

Review-

I still cannot understand why he moved to Paris, but while at Paris, no matter what others have said, he has arguably been better and more complete player than he was at Barcelona. And now, it seems to be wise to move. Because Messi does not seem to be slowing down any time soon.  Neymar has developed into a versatile, modern and insanely creative player. He can play as an attacking midfielder, Left Winger, False nine and maybe even more positions. He, according to me, has a real bright five years ahead of him.

Rating-

This is new, every club he's been, I will rate his transfer from 0-10 on the basis of success and contentment.

Santos- His childhood club, his breakthrough club, and the tenure in which he got scouted by Barcelona. It was a great time for him - It is an 8 for me.

Barcelona- The Fairytale. If there's something like perfect, this is it. A champion's league, two La liga titles, three copa del rey titles, one spanish super cup, one club world cup. Wow. Along with that, 105 goals. That's a 10.

Paris Saint Germain- His current club, and it might change if they win tonight's major final. Now, do not get me wrong, I still think he has been awesome, but he has not been content and neither has he won the champion's league. So it is gotta be a 6, right ?

Alright, that's it on the traitor (Sorry Neymar, I know you read my blog)

Barca: A season to forget- Left Wing/ Midfielder

THE PLAYERS- I am not considering Coutinho and Griezmann Left Wingers. 1. Ansu Fati- An  astoundingly ridiculous revelation this season, Ansu Fati will surely be a major part any success we are * hoping * for. His speed and aggressiveness is always channeled and timed well. He can create something out of very little. This is the quality we were craving for, and we have got it in the form of Ansu.  2. Pedri- I know, he is not a first team member just yet, but that is not to say he won't recieve first time action. I think when Ansu needs rest, Pedri should get some starts against less physical sides like Villarreal. Conclusion- After two seasons after Neymar left, we finally have two very good wingers on both flanks. This is definitely good !

Barca: A season to forget- What needs to change ?

What needs to change, in order to win the champions league this August ? So, I can'y really talk about mentality because I am not aware of the happenings in the dressing room, so, let's talk about tactics. Formations and player roles.  TYPE 1- 4-1-2-1-2 narrow Goalkeeper- Ter Stegen two center backs- Pique and Lenglet/ Pique and Araujo Right back- Semedo Left back- Jordi Alba Holding Midfielder- Sergio Busquets Two Central Midfielders- Riqui Puig and Vidal/De Jong /Rakitic Attacking Midfielder- Messi Two strikers- Suarez and Griezmann/ Fati ( He can definitely play there)               This formation was used in the last five games of league and it was evident that it worked fine only when the opposition was not ultra defensive. Napoli, sadly, is ultra defensive. In this formation, the defence has usual work. In the midfield, Busquets has to stay deep and think attacking. He needs to put ball forward after intercepting passes or gettiing ball...

Barca-1 : RMA -3

Of Course it's the match review.  Look, we played well. If that calms you down, it should not. We need to win to show for it. No matter how many chances are created, until they are put away. Real Madrid were, by far the second best side today. But, they won. Maybe that's because of the VAR decision, but we need to understand that we should have been at least 3-1 up at that point. There's no excuse for that kind of finishing, in an El Clasico, the PREMIER FOOTBALLING SHOWCASE. At least it used to be. Now, there were some things more alarming, and some good ones, but as has been the case this season, finishing remains to be sharp. So, what are the even more negative things ? 1. Busquets. Yeah. I said it before, I will say it again, De Jong and Busquets can't play together. They do not complement each other. For details, click  here  . 2. The day Koeman was appointed, I had one, singular doubt about him. his passiveness. That is what we saw today. Yes, starting Pedri a...
