One Of Us Is Lying by Karen McManus
In my opinion, it is one of the better books in recent years. This book really was a page flipper and the end, even though imminent for the last few chapters, was nicely built. Brilliant start, even better continuity and a slightly long end, it all falls perfectly.
Plot- A boy is found dead in middle of a detention with only four students in it. All of us have secrets, the question is how far will you go to protect them ? this is the information on the backside, and it got me kicking around. Actually, the plot circles around the death (suicide) of a maniac college going boy, where he has planned to frame them with delicious perfectness. Yeah, it is delicious to me.
Characters- The characters are fairly well written, which is common with authors today. Plots tend to be better than characters. Still, the characters are not shallow enough to criticize. We can imagine them fairly well. And that is all that matters !
Summary- The book is not for the ones who crave for contemporaries or classics, it is a plot based novel and a brilliant one at that.
